the IT Council celebrates its 4th anniversary on the 1st October

Culled from the IT Council's Official Blog

The IT Council is a technological company founded 1st October, 2011 with the objective of providing highly technological services, advices, rules and researches through highly skilled, talented and vibrant youths.

We offer various services like IT Consultancy and Infrastructural Services, Internet Services, Repair, Upgrade and Optimization of IT Devices, Communication Services, Software, IT Devices and Gadgets.

What is this Revolution about?
  • ·         Promoting the advancement of technology and computer literacy of the residents of its host countries and working together as revolution partners regardless of age, ethnic, origin, ability, sex, belief or political affiliation being familiar with the value of our many differences.
  • ·         Involving citizens in improving the area through every creative approach and guaranteed measures.
  • ·         Carrying out and promoting both technological and environmental improvements to educate, encourage and support the local population in the approach of solving problems and creating jobs by working with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • ·         Promoting technology and the positive use of the internet.
  • ·         To raise funds and receive contributions where appropriate to finance the work.
  • ·         To strategically publicise and promote the creativity in our work.
  • ·         Organise tech meetings, training courses and events through which avenues for development would be established.
  • ·         Work hand in hand with groups of similar interest and exchange information and advice with them.
  • ·         Take any action that is lawful, which would help it to fulfil its aims.
The IT Council, in the course of our Revolution plans, we set up a foundation in order to increase the pace at
which they are carried out. This foundation is meant to handle all the ambitions of the IT Council and
prevent any deviation or distractions of such as it does happen in companies these days.
Our goals are divided into 7 aspects:
1. IT Literacy
2. Educational Revolution
3. Internet
4. Creations / Support
5. Innovations
6. Intellectual Rights Protection
7. Security

As we move into these aspects, we would love your suggestions, support and full participation in any (or all)
of the following ways:
  • Benefitting from our trainings, seminars and other programmes
  • Volunteering in any of our outreach or programme setups
  • Helping to spread the word or promote our movement
  • Giving suggestions to help make our work easier and better
  • Joining the ITC Foundation as Partners or Supporters
  • Contributing to the growth of the Foundation through donations

About our ICT Literacy goals
Extensive research has proven that less than 30% of students and 15% adults in some specific locations in
Lagos have quality knowledge in Information and Communication Technology and could be regarded as
Computer Literates. In order to increase the knowledge of ICT nationwide, we plan to host events,
competitions, seminars and campaigns to enlighten Nigerians on how far Information and Communication
Technology could take us or make life easier if we embrace it.

About our Educational Revolution goals
We are moving towards the improvement of the educational system through the use of ICT Infrastructures,
the World Wide Web and other mediums applicable. We would also implement the use of Learning
Management Systems (LMS), E-Libraries and Learning gadgets (PCs, Tablets and Smart devices). We are also
in the move to the endorsement of the rights to Computer Education in developing countries.

About our Internet goals
The Social Media and the Internet as a whole possesses abundant opportunities and benefits. But
unfortunately, the internet has been misused and (or) poorly reached. It is our aim to boost the positive
usage of the internet.
1. The IT Council supports any programme or service that would supply reliable Internet connections at
affordable rates.
2. The IT Council supports any educational facility on the right use of the internet.
3. The IT Council supports any system that encourages the vast and right use of the Internet.

About our Creative / Supportive goal
We are readily open to support, adopt and promote creative technological ideas. In our terms to boosting
creativity, we are likely to sponsor or ally with the involved parties. We are moving towards the creation of a
modern hub where young ideas could be incubated, developed and grown into full maturity. We also aspire
to venture into funding creative contributions / projects to aid the speedy development of the IT sector.

About or Innovative goals
It is our target to improve our daily activities, working experiences and life in general through IT innovations.
We would also help such innovations improve and promote them through advices, rules and research.

About Intellectual Rights Protection goals
Many digital properties have been exploited over the years due to the weakness or ignorance of their
rightful owners. This usually leads to the failure, losses and waste of efforts put up by the authors of such
properties.
We are in the course of registering and accrediting intellectual rights of the respective owners in preventive
measures and help settling disputes or any violations related to intellectual rights and properties. This is to
encourage originality, creativity and security.

About our Security goals
The internet is not extremely secure as there are incidences of bugs, threats, leaks, cyber bullying and other
vulnerabilities. We are joining forces to fight these vulnerabilities to ensure the internet stays as secure as
ever. We are also not exempting the PC and Mobile areas.
